The beach

Made up of several small coves, located in a natural environment of extraordinary beauty, it is one of the favorite places for tourists. In addition you can admire the colorful spectacle of the sunset with the islets of S 'S'espartar, d' es Bosc and Sa Conillera as silent protagonists. The combination of the brightness of the sand and the reflection of Sun in its turquoise waters, make this place a paradise at any time of the year.

Two beautiful islands are right in front of the bay of Cala Compte: s'Illa d'es Bosc and Conillera. S' S'illa des Bosc, meaning "Forest island", a somewhat misleading name, since the island was desforested more than one century ago by a fire that destroyed all the trees. The islet is located only 400m from the coast of Ibiza, but the swimming across is suggested only for experienced swimmers and exclusively with a totally flat sea: in fact in this channel that separates Cala Compte from s ' S'illa des Bosc often there are strong underwater currents.

Conillera island is much bigger than s'Illa d'es Bosc and lies slightly to the North of this. It is visible from several points of the bay of San Antonio, whose embossed relief resembles the shape of a grounded whale. The island's history is fascinating and full of legends of all kinds: for example people say that it is the place of origin of Hannibal, or is stated that here you can find the hallucinogenic plant white henbane, collected by pagan practitioners and those who light bonfires to celebrate the night of San Juan.
